PIETY 6
Deep Space Exploration Drone

Launched June 15, 1965 from Mozambique.
Monitored day and night for two months straight by the carmelite order that runs mission control in Vatican City, the Piety Space Probe proved a difficult child for its the nuns. Faulty retro rockets refused to fire only 1,500 miles from earth orbit and the craft remained inopperative for several hours. The computers were succesfully reprogrammed and the spacecraft was able to continue it's journey to Mars and on into the rest of the solar system.
