My last page is about the anxiety of concept within a literary, intellectual, philosophical approach to painting. Today I came at the problem from a visual, physical, sensual, and painterly standpoint. It's simple. I was starting out with a dark base and creating dark painting.
When we were children in the 1950's my sister had a "blond" set of bedroom furniture. It was popular then to bleach wood.
Mouse over. I didn't bleach the mahogany but rather less destructively painted many clear coats tinted with titanium white. Will it work? |
