"The purpose of art therapy is essentially one of healing. Art therapy can be successfully applied to clients with physical, mental or emotional problems, diseases and disorders."
Wikipedia

The left hand drawings took me back to a primitive physical and mental state. I was appalled by my lack of dextral control. Like a self expressive animal, I became the subject of my drawings, tweeting like a song bird: "This is me! This is me! This is my pain! This is me! This is how I dream! This is me! This is how I think! This is how I feel!" This is my right brain boring me. I did only 3 sketches in 2 weeks.

Now that the cast has been removed I am working on a studio sketch as physiotherapy. Painting is physically painful.

The sketch is too controlled. The finest balance in painting is between order and chaos. A painting which is too orderly is as unsuccessful as one which is out of control. I am like a concert pianist who has not practiced for two weeks.

Luckily point of view was not lost: This is a sketch of what was once a fishing village on the Gaspe south of the Gulf of St. Lawrence in the sunlight of a stormy day.
