I entered LandSea01 (Traversant la rivière des Ottawa à Oka) acrylic & graphite on 61 x 91 cm (24 x 36 in) stretched canvas in a Paris photography contest in April.

I've been finding venues to show my new paintings.

I didn't win any of the prize money or even a bronze medallion but, they gave me this cool logo called "Winner-PX3-2011-Selectioneps". A click on it will direct your browser to the PX website.

Rene Magritte, the surrealist painter, painted this oil in 1928-29. The translation to English is: "This is not a pipe."

LandSea01 as I presented it isn't a 61 x 91 cm acrylic painting. It is a jpeg photograph of a painting of a digital photo montage of 3 photographs.

I wasn't going for the prize money. It's about logic: If a photograph can be art therefore a photograph of a painting of a photograph can also be art. Don't ask me what that means, David Hockney, I don't want to think about it.
