There was also an assembly in Troy.  Antenor believed that Helen and the gold should be returned to the Greeks in exchange for a withdrawal from Trojan lands.

Alexandros sharply refused to return Helen but agreed to give back the treasure and add to it.

Priam rose from his seat and proposed that sentries be posted and that Idaios go at dawn to the Greek camp and present Alexandros' offer to them.  In addition he charged Idaios to arrange a truce to gather and burn the dead.

The Trojan warriors then took their meals.
