In the melee over bodies and armor the Greek captain, Aias, struck the youthful Trojan, Simoeisios, with a spear square in the chest beside the right nipple.  The shaft exited by his shoulder blade.

Simoeisios had been conceived beside the river Simoeis by his loving parents while his mother tended her sheep.  That is how he got his name.

He died in the dust.
